About the Role
PURPOSE OF POSITION
The Supervised Contact Supervisor & Driver provides safe, supportive, and culturally aware supervision of contact visits between tamariki and their parents or family members, as required under formal access or visiting arrangements.
The role also provides safe and reliable transport for tamariki to and from supervised contact visits. The position ensures tamariki feel secure, respected, and supported throughout both the transport and contact supervision process.
Requirements
POSITION KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise visits between tamariki and non-custodial parents or family members in accordance with formal access arrangements.
Monitor interactions during visits and maintain active observation to ensure the safety and wellbeing of tamariki.
Report any concerns or incidents arising during visits promptly to the Service Delivery Coordinator.
Support parents to focus on quality time with their child during the visit.
Treat all clients with respect, dignity, and professionalism.
Maintain clear professional boundaries and uphold client confidentiality.
Complete accurate, timely, and unbiased written reports following each supervised contact session.
Transport of Tamariki
Safely transport tamariki to and from supervised contact visits in accordance with agreed schedules.
Ensure the emotional and physical safety of tamariki throughout transport.
Support tamariki during transitions between caregivers and contact visits.
Communicate respectfully and professionally with caregivers, whānau, and ACROSS staff during pick-ups and drop-offs.
Maintain a child-centred and culturally responsive approach to transport and interactions.
Administration and Compliance
Record transport details including times and attendance notes as required.
Maintain accurate documentation relating to supervised contact sessions.
Follow ACROSS policies and procedures, including health and safety requirements.
Conduct regular vehicle safety checks across all fleet vehicles.
Provide general administration support as required.
Maintain strict confidentiality regarding tamariki, whānau, and service information.

SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, particularly with children and families.

Reliable, punctual, and flexible to meet the needs of tamariki and whānau.
Ability to manage or de-escalate conflict where necessary.
Demonstrates respect for cultural diversity and a commitment to culturally responsive practice aligned with Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE
Experience working with tamariki, rangatahi, whānau, or within community or social services.
Understanding of child wellbeing, safety, and development.
Knowledge of Te Reo Māori me ōna tikanga
REQUIREMENTS
Clean Class 1 full New Zealand driver license.
Ability to pass Police Vetting and Child Safety checks.
Current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
