About the Role
The Supervised Contact Driver provides safe, reliable, and culturally respectful transport for tamariki (children) between their caregivers/whānau and supervised contact sessions. The role ensures tamariki are supported in their transitions, helping them feel secure and cared for during pick-up and drop-off.
Requirements
POSITION KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Safely transport tamariki to and from supervised contact visits in accordance with agreed schedules.
Ensure tamariki’s emotional and physical safety throughout the journey.
Maintain a child-focused and culturally responsive approach, acknowledging the needs of Māori, Pacific, and diverse communities.
Communicate clearly and professionally with caregivers, whānau, and service staff during pick-ups and drop-offs.
Maintain confidentiality and uphold the privacy of tamariki and whānau at all times.
Follow organisational procedures for health and safety, vehicle checks, and incident reporting.
Support the smooth running of supervised contact services by being punctual, reliable, and flexible.
Record transport details (time, mileage, attendance notes) as required.

SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES
Excellent driving skills and a clean full NZ driver licence.
Strong interpersonal skills, particularly with children and families.
Ability to remain calm and supportive in sensitive or stressful situations.
Respectful of confidentiality, boundaries, and professional conduct.
Reliable, punctual, and flexible to meet the needs of tamariki and whānau.
EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE
Previous experience working with tamariki, whānau, or in community/social services.
Understanding of child wellbeing and safety needs.
Knowledge of tikanga Māori and commitment to culturally responsive practice.
REQUIREMENTS
Full, clean NZ driver licence.
Access to a reliable, roadworthy vehicle (if using own).
Ability to pass a Police Vetting Check.
